Exhausted
Today, I went with 2 other missionary ladies out to a mall where they sell everything from Groceries to furniture, appliances, and pets. Much like in the states this mall was HUGE!! I was able to visit 4 different stores looking for all of our appliances. After 7 hours of walking from one store to the next securing discounts and looking for the ABSOLUTE BEST DEALS, I returned to our 1 bedroom apartment having purchased a washer, dryer, stove, and fridge for just over $2000. Things are SOOO expensive here, and the ones that I bought aren't even close to being "top of the line." For instance I have always dreamed of having a front load washer with a matching dryer. I would have had to pay $1000 for the washer and ANOTHER $1000 for the matching dryer. NO WAY!!!
I also came home with a bike for Hannah. We have a store that is just like a Super WalMart, but the CHEAPEST bike for her size with a girly color was $140. Because it was the last one they had and it has some scratches, (The scraches are really not that noticeable and would have been there sooner or later.) my veteran missionary friend got them down to $113. Praise God!!! Caleb, Doug, and I all have bikes on the container. Praise God they fit!!!
All of the appliances are due to arrive at our house on Monday, so I'll have to wait there in the TOTALLY EMPTY house from 9am until they come, which could be as late as 9pm. It should be interesting!!!
For now I am planning to get my kids showered and ready for bed and then head there myself. Tomorrow we'll visit a church we've never been to and may possibly help in for the next 9 months, while friends and fellow missionaries go on furlough. I pray that tomorrow my feet don't hurt as bad as they do right now!!!

We're Here!
We are FINALLY here in CHILE!!! It was a LONG and WONDERFUL journey, both on prefield and our plane flights just yesterday into today. Today has been spent and will continue to be spent relaxing and getting over lack of sleep from the trip. I'll have to blog later about our adventures, but we as a few highlights...
1. First Baptist Church of Evans City, not our sending church, but a WONDERFUL supporting church and where we were married, sent some of our friends down to the airport to send us off. It was SO encouraging.
2. Because of those friends, and one in particular who had 2 tracts that she gave me, I was able to share some with 2 men on 2 of our 4 flights and then hand them the tracts. Please pray that Pete and ? will read those tracts, understand, and have their lives transformed by God's free gift!
3. We were delayed in Bogota, Colombia and had some adventures with waking the kids every 10 minutes as they moved our gate, served us refreshments, moved a large machine that my kids were laying in front of, and FINALLY get on the plane. The kids did GREAT!
We are all still catching up on sleep and probably will be for the next week or two.
I'll try to post some pictures and more updates as we go.
Glad to be in Chile!!!

Spinning my Wheels
That was a nice meal and time away from the house! Oh, I think this is my turn. I know I'm supposed to turn left up here somewhere. This is a pretty road, but I don't think it's the right road! I'd better turn around! I'll just back in here and turn around......... UH OH! I think I'm stuck!!!
These were my thought as I headed back into the woods of West Virginia back to my in-laws house. If one lives OUT here, one has to drive at least an hour to the closest WalMart. I had talked to Doug's ex-sister in-law on Monday and we decided to meet for lunch in one of those "one hour away" towns. After a great lunch and conversation I ran a couple of errands and headed home. That was when I took the wrong turn. I was about 40 minutes into the drive, when I took that wrong turn. I knew shortly after I took it that it had been wrong, but my pride didn't want to turn around. Once I finally gave in to the need to turn around, I backed into the worst place I could have. Honestly, it looked like solid ground!
After praying for help from God, I got out and saw just how bad it was. I flagged down the FedEx guy who tried for about 20 minutes to push, place things under my wheels, and give me any help he could. Then 2 men and a woman came by in their SUV with a chain and they graciously pulled me out! I was on my way back to where I had made my wrong turn.
As I was driving back home I realized how much this practical application fits our lives. How many times do we take a wrong turn from where the Lord wants us to go, and just how many times we are stubborn and our pride keeps us from turning and repenting? We end up getting stuck and spinning our wheels. Until we finally turn back to the Lord and He gets us back on the right road going in the right direction.
Last night after I got home, we had a major wind storm. SO..... we lost electricity. Praise God Doug's grandfather was an electrician and had helped Doug's parents set up a generator for times such as this. Just another West Virginia Adventure here in the "back woods of no where!"

It's the simple life
Well, we are done with visiting churches and updating our supporters, so now it is time to REALLY pack and get relax before we leave next Monday.
Today, was kind of neat. My in-laws live in the "back woods of no where," and there is always LOTS of work to be done on these 50 some acres. So, today after 2 trees were cut down by professionals practically our whole family worked out in the yard moving and piling up the logs so that they could dry and be used as firewood next year. Driving the tractor and working outside reminded me that life can be so simple. What does life come down to? We're here on earth to glorify God and when I'm out in His nature, I can't help but praise Him for His beautiful creation!
In another year or two, or for that matter in 2 more weeks, I may be missing the fresh air of this beautiful state, but I know that each time I think of this "home," that I will be reminded of His gifts of creation!!!
